There are many ways to communicate with with other players online. Here are the most common ways: Command Description ------- ----------- say speak to others in the room pose pose an action to others in the room page send a message long-distance to another player online +com talk to everyone joined to a particular chat channel +mail send an in-game mail message to another player Examples: say Hello! (Everyone in the room hears: Yourname says, "Hello!") pose waves hello. (Everyone in the room hears: Yourname waves hello.) page Fred=I need help. (Fred hears: Yourname pages: I need help.) +com newbie=Which culture should I join? (Everyone joined to the <Newbie> chat channel hears: <Newbie> Yourname says, "Which culture should I join?" ) It is worth noting that most of the commands on the previous page can be abbreviated. The "say" command can be abbreviated by typing a single double- quote symbol (") followed by what you want to say. For example, type: "Hi everyone. (including the quote mark in front). The "pose" command can be abbreviated by using a colon (:) in the same way. The "page" command can be shortened to the single letter "p". (E.g. "p Fred=I need help.") And if you want to page the same player that you last paged again, you can leave out the name and the = sign (e.g. "p Nice to see you again, Fred.") Finally, you can speak on your default +com channel (which starts out as the Newbie channel) by just typing an equals sign (=) followed by what you want to say. Try this: =I'm new here! Type "help <command>" for more help on any of the above commands. Type "help intro" to return to the list of quick-start topics.
