Syntax 1: +COM <channel>=<message> Syntax 2: ,<channel> <message> Syntax 3: =<message> When you speak on a +com channel, everyone who is joined to that channel hears what you say no matter where they are on the game. There are three commands which allow you to speak on +com channels. You may only speak on channels which you have joined. (Type "+com/on" to see a list of which channels you are currently on. See HELP +COM JOIN for help on joining new +com channels.) In each of the three commands, <channel> is the name of any channel you are on or any unambiguous prefix of the name of a channel you are on. For example if you are on only one channel beginning with "a" then you can speak on that channel by referring to it simply as "a". <message> is whatever you want to say on that channel. If <message> starts with a colon (:) then the message is posed. If <message> starts with a semicolon (;) then the message is possessive-posed. Syntax 1 is a general command for speaking on any of your channels. Syntax 2 is an abbreviation of syntax 1 to make it easier to speak quickly (don't forget to type the comma which starts the command). Syntax 3 is an even shorter abbreviation which allows you to speak quickly on your default channel. (See help +com default for how to set your default channel.) Note that if you are prone to typos, syntaxes 2 and 3 can be disabled by using the Noshortcoms +com toggle. (See help +com toggles for more information.) Examples are as follows: Example: +COM newbie=Hello. My name is Fred. <Newbie> Fred says, "Hello. My name is Fred." Example: ,newbie Can somebody help me? <Newbie> Fred says, "Can somebody help me?" Example: ,pub :wonders what's going on. <Public> Fred wonders what's going on. Example: =;'s friend would like to join the game. <Foobar> Fred's friend would like to join the game. (Assuming Fred's default channel is the Foobar channel.)
